One of the most fulfilling thing that i did and achieved this year was a pledge i took up to make Madam Lily Sin, a stroke victim’s wish (to get a pair of multifocal glasses and hair makeover) come true. The above is an article from The Sun.

My 24th birthday is coming up, and i asked myself many times, “what do i want for my birthday?”

The answer, is nothing. i’ve worked hard enough to get everything i wanted (no, my parents don’t superspoil me with stuff), and there’s nothing else i need that i can’t live without.

Part of me feels grateful to be so lucky, but another part of me feels quite sad because the things that i want are matters that money cannot buy. Well, of course i could still make a list of things i wish i own like a Tiffany & Co. signature ring, a Coach bag, the new Canon S95 (when my S90 is still working perfectly)…

*ehem* Those are the things i (do) want, but give ‘em all to me, next year i want another ring, another bag, another camera. What’s the point? How long could the happiness by looking and touching these expensive things last in one’s lifetime? Truth is, it is never enough.

But by using 100% effort and 0 cent, i found a kind of fulfilling happiness that will always remain in me.

i am very sure my other blogger buddies feel the same way too.

Kimberly received donation from her readers and managed to buy 3 hospital beds instead of 1; which was the initial goal, while Sai Mat Kong organized a charity car wash to raise funds and he did GREAT! i’m very proud of us.

Ever since i joined this campaign, whenever i feel upset (for valid reasons OR sad because of PMS), i tend to think of my very first visit to NASAM, the strokees’ house.

The provoking image of an old lady fed thru a pipe and not her mouth subconsciously makes me touch mine, and wonder why do i ever complain with this pair of lips, when even those who can’t even use ‘em to chew, are living everyday with smiles on their faces.

Promise Me to take up a pledge next year because i Promise You that it is gonna be a priceless experience, and an everlasting memory you will never forget.

this is my last post on the completion of a pledge i took up; which is to fulfill Madam Lily Sin’s wish to get  a pair of multi-focal glasses, and a new haircut to suit her new frames!

feelin’ the Monday Blues after a nice weekend everyone? well, i’m here to entertain you even when i’m wearing blue!

even when skies are gloomy, or if you feel so yourself, you can still wear a pair of sunglasses and feel sunny all over! notice the colour / tone changes once you put on glasses :

Ha! it’s like Doraemon. the robot cat is a perfect example of how you can be happy even when you’re blue. pun intended. LOL

you know how you automatically think someone who wears shades in a mall is ‘crazy’? i am one of them (who think that it’s crazy and definitely not considered as fashion).

however, this time it’s different because i’m writing a non-profitable advertorial for a very generous optical shop named OPTIMAL (at IOI mall, Puchong) that sponsored Madam Lily Sin a pair of muli-focal glasses :

taking care of our eyes are as important as taking care of our health. therefor, gaining professional aid is fairly crucial. it is essential to earn good service from your opticians when getting a pair of glasses.

i’m not saying this because OPTIMAL helped me with my pledge. Chan Hong, my BFF Ai Rene’s brother, works in this optical shop. without his help, i might still be looking for generous people  out there T__________T

once the glasses are fitted into the purple bling bling frames, they will give her a call to collect ‘em yay!

i don’t want to make this sound like a speech, but thank you. i have no idea how to express my gratitude to OPTIMAL, Chan Hong, (i’m not listing out everyone here or this would really turn into a speech); but basically just every soul who helped make this pledge happen; i hope you did yourself proud cuz i do.

now 50% of Lily Sin’s wish is fulfilled! next up is gonna be our visit to Grace Salon where Lily gets a hair makeover to suit her new pair of frames.

Lunch time has never been this meaningful.

Exactly two days ago, i took Jackie out with me during lunch time to pay a visit to Madam Lily Sin @ Nasam PJ charity house.

Jackie’s status as my colleague expires today. From 6 P.M. onwards, she becomes a friend! lol

This girl has a heart as big (and wide) as her eyes. Without Jackie’s help, this mission wouldn’t have been accomplished as i’m superbad… at reading maps.

She was my ‘photographer’ too!

So that was the meeting with my beneficiary. As for Madam Lily’s wishes, i’m trying to get ‘em fulfilled by next weekend.

Lately, i’ve been juggling 4 things at a time. If you’re interested to know, basically, this is how my timetable looks like :

a) 9 A.M. – 6 P.M.  : full-time job
b) 7 P.M. – 10 P.M. : acting class
c) 12 A.M. onwards : blog
d) this one is a secret but it has something to do with business.

i’m exhausted!!!!! )=

if u see my hair all tied up, it means i have a super busy day. i can’t wait for 15th July. that would be the last day of my intensive acting course, and also the day Alex comes back from Madrid.

Phewww~ 1 more week to go.

The progress of my pledge is going smoothly. The first post i did about TLC Promise Me Campaign, a lady named Nathalie Seroux commented, and immediately fulfilled Madam Lily’s 2nd wish – which is the hair makeover! Plus, it is gonna be at a luxurious salon in Bangsar Village II.

Sigh. i love being sexc and all that, and it’s ok if you like sexc things like me, but seriously guys, Facebook & all that are very surface things.

Peel me like an onion and you don’t have to dig deep enough peel till you tear to learn that i do love to help the needy, and i hope deep down inside you, you do have that too.

Let’s go that extra distance beyond a pledge and make a difference together.

p/s: As an update on Madam Lily’s multi-focal glasses, my colleague, Mahesh is being very kind to intro one of his (optical) clients to me. The meeting is today, so….. Fingers crossed!

Back to juggling.

This is not a very interesting topic to talk about, but treat it as an appetizer to the bigger news i’m about to share later on.

Last weekend, i went to Genting Highlands with my parents and silly brother.

Secretly, i thought of that as something very “uncool”. My parents don’t gamble, my brother and i don’t like the rides too much, i really have no idea what’s to do there except to eat at Gohtong Jaya. And Gohtong, is not even Genting yet.

And so that’s what we did.

My parents “gambled” at Gohtong, not Genting. You know those coupons you buy and scratch using coins? hahaha yeah, those ones.

And mum won 9 bucks! LOL

Also bought some hot sweet chestnuts to spice up the journey.

When we reached the top, we had ice-cream = eat again.

What i realized tho, is that at the end of the day, it is about spending time with your family wherever & whenever you get the chance to because not everyone is as fortunate as we are. Some has no parents; some are abandoned by their children.

That is why, i am a TLC Promise Me participant, officially starting today.

Promise Me is The Truly Loving Company’s (TLC) vision of social engagement for charitable causes. It is about channeling the collective energy of the community in helping the less fortunate, disabled and underprivileged in our society and gives everyone an opportunity to fulfill the wishes of the less fortunate.

My pledge is to help Madam Lily Sin get a beautiful pair of multi-focal spectacles & a hair make-over to suit the new frames.

The media launch for this campaign falls on 5^th July, 4 pm at Bangsar Shopping Centre concourse. It will be officiated by Dato’ Sri Shahrizat Binti Abdul Jalil, the Minister of Women, Family and Community Development.
