We met up with Razman again a couple of days later. It was an arrangement to finally buy the skateboard! His chaperone led the way to a mall nearby of which name I don’t remember. There were a lot of people around as it was the Puasa month and everyone was doing some Raya shopping. While we walk around to look for a shop that sells skateboards, Razman followed us closely. We were all very keen to finally find the shop. After asking for some directions, we were finally directed to the right shop. We were all smiling from ear to ear. After going through a few skateboards, Razman finally pick a black skateboard with green designs. Satisfied with the purchase, we headed home as it was nearly time for ‘buka puasa’. He thanked us for the skateboard and promise to be careful when playing with it. After trying the skateboard out, we had to say our goodbyes and promised to see each other again. It was all in all an enjoyable day for us, especially for Wai Leong and I to be able to fulfil the wish of a little boy.

On the 11th of August 2010, we were truly anticipating about visiting Razman at Rumah Aman. We had made an earlier appointment and it would be the first time that we would be meeting him. Before leaving for Rumah Aman, we were nervous and wondering how we could break the ice with him. So before reaching the orphanage, we decided to drop by at 7 Eleven to buy him some gifts. We scanned through the shelves and decided to get him some snacks that he could have after breaking his fast. We got him chocolates, Ribena and some chips. On the way out, we decided to grab a yo-yo for him too.

With all those little gifts, we set out to Rumah Aman. It didn’t take long for us to find the place by following the directions of our GPS. The aura which vibrated from the home truly surprised us. The orphanage was built in the image of a castle, portraying a deep sense of security. We went into the home requesting if we could meet the little boy.

He came trotting down the stairs wearing a striped shirt and jeans. He gave us one of the most sincere smiles which we had ever seen and greeted us very politely. He seems excited to meet us and yet he was very composed. The administrators were very kind to let us use their office as a meeting place.

We gave him the gifts that we brought and started some light chat with him. We caught him eyeing the yo-yo and decided that we would give some yo-yo lessons. He was very keen to learn and was determined to play it well. He told us that it was his first yo-yo.

After that we sat down with him to talk about his skateboard lessons. We arranged for another date with him to do a little shopping for his new skateboard. After that we said our goodbyes and look forward to our next date.

All in all, it was an exciting day for us and we hope it was for him as well.
